The information presented below shows the impressive lineage of Cornet Noir. It is how “horse people” track and display a horse’s family tree. Links are included in many of the names below that will jump to other web sites. Several of these web sites are in Europe and are displayed in the native language of a particular country. They are displayed “as is” and no effort has been made to translate them into English.

Also note that the information presented below is for the Sire’s side of Cornet Noir’s pedigree. The Dam’s side will be posted in the near future.

Cornet Noir has a lineage that goes back to the two famous English Thoroughbreds Rantzau xx and Furioso xx.

The most most famous son of Rantzau xx (see Oldenburg's Thoroughbreds) is the Selle Francais stallion Cor de la Bryére out of Quenotte B. Cor de la Bryére is oftentimes hailed as the stallion of the century of the Hoisteiner Federation (see video - Cor de la Bryère - Ein Jahrhundertvererber in Holstein).

In 1971 Alwin Schockemöhle, a famous German Olympic Champion, was tasked to go to France and bring back a new stallion that would help improve the Holsteiner breed. The decision made on that fateful day would change the world of not only the Hoisteiner breed but different disciplines of riding as well! He had the biggest impact in international showjumping as well as the world of international dressage!

Cornet Noir is from the Corrado I - Clinton line.

  • Is out of Soleil a Capitol-Maestose-Frivol daughter (Stutenstamm 6879) who has 30 approved stallions himself

  • Competed under Franke Sloothak a German Showjumping Champion winning Nation Prizes for Germany, winning the NRW-Cup in Aachen, and qualifying for the Worldcup in Dortmund.

  • His most famous offspring includes:

    • Corradina 2 competed under Carsten-Otto Nagel, German Showjumping Champion, winning a European Championship Silver medal and Team World Champion

    • Clinton under Dirk Demeersman, Belgian Olympic Showjumping Champion, who placed fourth in the Olympic Games in Athens
